Chesham Neighbourhood Group (NAG) held their second meeting on Tuesday, June 3 at the Chesham Town Hall and laid down plans to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Looking into actions that were set in the first meeting, the NAG identified key causes of public disorder in the neighbourhood.
Gary Blackburn, the local Neighbourhood Specialist Officer (NSO) said: "The main concern here is to stop underage drinking and alcohol related disorder. The same will apply to the problems associated with mini motorbikes."
"We were looking at where, when and what form of anti-social behaviour is taking place. We will be looking at peak times of when the youths are gathering around and drinking alcohol and who is present."
NSO Blackburn has carried out a number of checks and looked at how many calls were received over the last few months concerning anti-social behaviour in Chesham.
He added: "From looking at the figures it was evident that an area in the West of Chesham caught our attention by the amount of calls and complaints received. The particular issues involve a number of youths riding around on mini motorbikes through Captains Wood and Marston Fields. Captains Wood field is a lovely area to take your dog out for a walk or your kids to the park. The few that spoil it make it less appealing for local residents to take that stroll."
Anti-social behaviour is currently the top neighbourhood priority for Chesham and the NAG agreed to tackle these problems first and actions have been set for members to complete before the next get together on Tuesday 15 July.
Members of the NAG are enjoying the prospect of working with each other to tackle these sorts of issues and help provide solutions to the problems.
The NAG has promised that other areas of Chesham that face problems will not be ignored and will be policed as usual.
